Halle the cat watches me color a comic. OK, the comic was already done, but I thought it was so funny the way she just patiently watches me work that I held my iPhone in one hand while drawing with the other. That’s the kind of expert production values you get here at Cheesebo.

A delightful video! Not only funny but I love to watch artists color. Would you say you have a specific “process” in coloring? If so, please share!
Hmm. I kind of have a “Stephen” process. I color like an old animation cell. Instead of flipping the cell over and coloring the back, I simply make a duplicate outlined layer and play around with the color and opacity in Photoshop.
I like painting in acrylic and have had a lot of fun with crayon and colored pencil in the past. There are a lot of digital colorists that I see that I really enjoy. I like trying color theory myself rather than depending on a program to tell me what matches. That may be painfully obvious at times, but I enjoy coloring so much that it takes up too much time for a daily comic. So I’m trying to spread it out a bit because I like stark black and whites with gray washes as well.
Halle seems fascinated with the pointer. I suppose in a way she is indirectly chasing a mouse. Get it? A mouse? On the computer? Hello? Is this thing on?
It’s funny how I can not notice comments on my own website. Is “funny” the word? Embarrassing.
Garey, a friend on Twitter made the mouse analogy and then had to explain it to me. “Oooooh.” Yeah, I’m sharp as a tack most days.
